Scion sales were up substantially in February bolstered by the popularity of the new redesigned 2011 tC, but also some new lease programs that rolled out which offer attractive monthly payments.
Last month, Scion sold 1,662 tC’s, a 93% increase over the same month in 2010. Scion xD sales were also up 28% with 807 units sold. The Scion xB saw a small 4% decline in sales over February of last year, moving a still healthy 1475 units.
The new lease programs that Scion is offering starting in February and going through April 4th, have reasonably low drive off investments and very attractive monthly payments.
On the top selling Scion tC, you can lease an automatic equipped model for $205 per month with only $855 due at least signing. An 2011 xB is available for $199 a month with $849 down. On a xD, you can drive one off for $829 at signing and $179 a month.
All leases are based on 12,000 miles per year and last 36 months. Of course you need to add monthly sales tax and any applicable license or transfer fees to the payment. These are very attractive programs that allow you to get into a solid new Scion for a great price.
Do beware however that in February it was reported that Toyota did raise the required credit score from 650 FICO to 720 FICO in order to qualify for the lease programs. However we always recommend you contact your dealer and discuss with them in finer detail because it is not always as cut and dried as that. Additionally, your dealer is also likely to have alternate programs if your credit rating is not top tier.
The fine print states that the lease offers are based on MSRP of $16,420 for xD, $17,670 for xB, $18,620 for tC including delivery, processing and handling fee. That means if you add options or accessories at the dealer, your monthly payment will go up accordingly. And for whatever reason, these offers are not available in Hawaii. More information Scion.com
