The Scion Tuner Challenge is ramping up for 2011, in Canada. Now that our buds north of the border are getting the Scion love, their tuners have been invited to participate in a Tuner Challenge of their own.
The first of its kind in Canada, Scion has chosen three finalists to build off. Each team has been given $10,000, unlimited access to the TRD parts catalogue and a brand new 2011 Scion. Each team will work on one specific Scion, an xD, xB or a tC, adding their own style and personality to each car.
You can follow the build over the coming weeks and months as we wind down to the fall. The teams will battle it out for the title of Ultimate Tuner Challenger and for their chance to win a trip to SEMA in Vegas to show off their tuning masterpiece on a world stage.
Of course, Sciclonic.com will be on hand to cover the SEMA Show and bring you photos, video and news when the awards are handed out just like last year.
But the big news is that if you are a Canadian resident, you can win a trip to join them in Vegas too! Enter at the website linked below for a chance to win a trip for two to Vegas to attend the SEMA show. This is huge stuff because the show is closed to the public.
You can also win other prize swag such as HD Video Cameras and a banging audio system for your car, all provided by JVC.
Scion tC: Team TDS

Team “TDS” was formed in 2005 by a small group of veteran tuner enthusiasts who came together first as friends and through their many builds and years of show circuits have now become a tight knit family. Team leader Arthur Chiang says: “Attention to detail, exquisitely presented engine bays, top quality parts, and a unique edgy style are hallmarks of a TDS build.” Arthur’s team includes Justin Lim, Vincent Harjono, Roland Kahl, Tony Mooc, Mike Fu and Albert Tjong.
Scion xD: Camo Customs
Camo Customs has been a player on the tuner scene for almost ten years. They specialize in body work and have experience working with everything from show cars to rally, drift, lap and drag racing cars, as well as boat and motorcycle tuning. The Camo Customs team is: Shawn O’Donnell and Benoit StCyr.
Scion xB: SR Auto Group
For over a decade, SR Auto Group has been incorporating its refined style into luxurious and exotic vehicles. All their work is dedicated to perfection. Team leader, Tony Yuen says “our philosophy is reflected through sound customer service, the environment and most importantly, our signature work”. Tony’s team includes Philip Cheng, Amos Leung, Leslie Wong, Kevin Yong and Kenny Wang.
