Scion has topped the list of the most reliable car brands for the 2011 Consumer Reports survey. The pack of top brands in the annual consumer survey start with Scion and continue with Lexus, Acura, Mazda, Honda, and Toyota.
Consumer Reports says that Scion rose to the top brand status with the xB and xD model primarily. Because the tC is a newer model with shallow data, it was not included. Family brand Lexus rose some seven places from last year.
Parent brand Toyota finished sixth overall, the same as last year. Every Toyota model except the all-wheel-drive version of the Sienna minivan was average or better.
It’s hard to come up with a better measure of reliability and quality than the stamp of Consumer Reports, a publication that has historically been a tough critic of just about everything.
