Carrie Anne Moss Celebrates Her 48th Birthday On August 21

Carrie belongs to Vancouver, British Columbia and was born on August 21, 1967 to Melvyn and Barbara Moss. She is the youngest among her family and she has an elder brother named Brooke. She lived with her mother in Vancouver as a child. When she turned 11, she joined the Vancouver children’s musical theater and later went to tour Europe with the Magee Secondary School Choir when she was in her senior year.

Before she came into the film industry her previous professions included modeling and waitressing. Before she started as a model, she used to work in restaurants at the age of 14.

Her first television appearance was through a drama series titled Dark Justice and for the same series she relocated from Barcelona to Los Angeles, California in 1992. For the next two years, she acted in number of television series and other commercials including Matrix (1993).

In 1994, she was considered for the role of Melissa Robinson in Ace Ventura: Pet Detective, but her major breakthrough role came when she was chosen to play Trinity for The Matrix (1999). She reprised the role in the next two sequels: The Matrix Reloaded and, The Matrix Revolutions. Other than acting for movies, she has even provided her voice for video games and, animated spin-offs for no of films: Mass Effect-2 and, Mass Effect-3 just to name a few.

Other than movies, she has been a part of many plays including Outward Bound in Los Angeles, and, was also included in the production of Time of Your Life, Stage Door and, The Sound Of Music.

After The Matrix got released, Carrie became a part of number of other films in the Hollywood. She starred opposite Burt Reynolds and, Richard Dreyfuss in Disney’s mobster comedy titled The Crew. She next appeared in Chocolat followed by the thriller Memento with Guy Pearce. In 2006 she became a part of Fido and, Snow Cake, while in next year she appeared in the thriller Disturbia.

In 1999, she married Steven Roy, and they had 3 children; 2 sons Owen, Jaden and one daughter named Frances.

In the same year, 1999 she won two awards titled: Best Newcomer and, Best Actress for the movie The Matrix, and also got nominated for Breakthrough Female Performance for the same movie. In 2003, she bagged the Teen Choice Awards for Choice Movie Actress for the movie Memento.

Again in 2006 she won two awards titled: Critics Circle Award for Best Actress in a Canadian film in Fido (2006) and, one Best Performance by an actress in Supporting Role award for Snow Cake (2006).
