Liverpool
Liverpool Vs Manchester United

It is still very much the opening stages of the season, and its once again time for a big match this week as Liverpool take on Manchester United at Anfield on Saturday. Considering the form this season, both the teams have had similar experiences in the opening few games and are tied at seven points from four fixtures.

Both the teams come into this fixture losing their previous game, Liverpool lost to giant killing West Ham while Manchester United failed to overcome the Swansea City nightmare.

Liverpool, Man U look for victory

Two great teams of English Football take on each other on Saturday Night. However, both the teams have faced a stretch of disappointing campaigns in the past few years.

This season neither of the teams have managed a single convincing victory so far that you would expect from a title contender. However, this is their chance to ensure dominance in the league, if either of them can manage to win. Both the teams have struggled for goals, United will look up to new recruit Anthony Martial for some solution and pace up front in converting chances to goals.

On the other hand, Liverpool’s new recruits Christian Benteke, Roberto Firmino and Danny Ings are yet to find their footing right in the top-flight team. Benteke and Ings both had a decent season last year at Aston Villa and Burnley, however the duo has failed to kick-start their Anfield career.

David De Gea ready for comeback?

Owing to Man U’s poor show against Swansea City and David De Gea’s extension of stay at Old Trafford, Louis van Gaal could consider reviving the player’s future at the club with a start against Liverpool this weekend.

De Gea fell down the pecking order, but due to his extended stay at Old Trafford it might in best interest for both the player and the club to clear the air in between. Also, it might be quite convenient for the Dutchman to use the services of De Gea and strengthen the performance in between the nets for upcoming clash and the season.

Man U got the better of Liverpool last season

Liverpool manager would not want to remember past season’s performance, managing to lose both the encounters in the Premier League.

Both the teams face similar problems this season, the inability to convert goals, lack of creativity up-front, poor defensive performances. But, the teams have had their time to strengthen in the transfer window and a long international break to regain focus and re-orient their strategies to find a winning combination for the long Premier League season that awaits.
