Manchester City take on Juventus

The 2015 Champions League runner-up Juventus are set to face EPL high-flyers Manchester City in the opening day fixture at Etihad stadium. However, the change of competition could turn the tides against the Premier League side.

Manchester City look to improve home record in Champions League

Manchester City have a poor run at home in the Champions League winning just three out of eleven in the past. But, their recent record in the Premier League is way better winning all five matches they’ve played so far including a thumping 3-0 victory over Chelsea.

Also, the English team is yet to concede a single goal in competitive fixtures this term.

While, Juventus have had a nightmare start to this season only managing a point from three fixtures, making the job further easy for Manchester City.

City only needs to keep up their strong defense and avoid any sudden loss of form.

Injury Crisis

Manchester City feared the loss of three major players for the fixture against Juventus, which has now dropped to just one missing element from the team. Sergio Aguero has been confirmed to sit-out the fixture with an injured knee.

“Sergio is not fit, I hope he will be OK for the weekend but we must wait to see the result of the scans,” said manager Manuel Pellegrini.

However, the good news for the English side is David Silva will return to action after missing out against Crystal Palace on Saturday. While, Raheem Sterling has also been declared fit for the tie against Juventus.

Juventus is set to be without the services of Claudio Marchisio after his Serie A start was cut short against Chievo. Marchisio has been reported to miss out another month of action, according to goal.com.
